Officer, French Guard Cavalry, 1814, Napoleonic Figurine, Collectable Figurine, Foot Soldier Figurine
Infantry of the Napoleonic wars, a reproduction of soldiers from different eras to trace the evolution and history, reproduced in standard 1/30th, or 54mm, a collection of Del Prado.
The figurines are made in a stable alloy of lead and zinc, with a remarkable finish, both in terms of casting, as paint. Hand painted.
The 3rd Honor Guard Regiment was a light cavalry unit created in France in 1813 and serving alongside the Imperial Guard under the First Empire. It was disbanded during the First Restoration in 1814.
"History takes us back to 1812, after the disasters of the Russian campaign. Napoleon had to enlist new troops to face a new coalition. Among these hastily raised soldiers, 10,000 cavalrymen formed a corps. This was the Honor Guard. Its personnel was to be composed of the sons of the most distinguished families from the 130 departments of the Empire. The Honor Guards saw action for the first time in Saxony in 1813. They charged heroically again during the French campaign the following year."
