Infantry of the Napoleonic wars, a reproduction of soldiers from different eras to trace the evolution and history, reproduced in standard 1/30th, or 54mm, a collection of Del Prado.
The figurines are made in a stable alloy of lead and zinc, with a remarkable finish, both in terms of casting, as paint. Hand painted.
The National Guard is a French citizen militia first raised in Paris in mid-July 1789 and bringing together bourgeois militias that had spontaneously formed following the announcement of Necker's dismissal and a concentration of royal troops around the capital. From 20 July 1789, armed formations were also spontaneously formed in the provinces to deal with "aristocratic plots" and "brigands" as part of the Great Fear; they were later confirmed as the National Guard.
Intended for the "maintenance of order" and "internal security" of the municipalities under whose supervision it was, it was used as a repressive tool for popular movements by the National Assembly, notably during the Champ-de-Mars shooting in Paris or during peasant revolts in the provinces, but it also engaged, from refusing to intervene to actively participating, alongside autonomous popular movements. She played a leading political role during the revolutionary period in France.
